Our Staff

Our staff is part of what makes our compassionate care possible.  They truly support Dr. Jenkins vision of providing quality care in an ‘ohana setting.

Tina-Account specialist, she has been with Dr. Jenkins since day one. Initially answering phones and scheduling patients she now takes care of all of our in-house finances and insurance questions. This self proclaimed ‘lover of dogs’ (especially her hound, Lola) has an office in the back, but she’s always in the front of our minds. Born in Pennsylvania, she has called Hawaii home for the past 22 years

Valerie- As one of our trusty technicians, this Big Island girl has been with Dr. Jenkins for 13 years. She’s the sassy one in the office that keeps us laughing. When she’s not busy taking care of patients she cares for her two dogs, her husband and of course always makes time for ZUMBA!

Lani-Our dedicated front desk girl has been with Dr. Jenkins for 11 years; she not only greets every patient with a smile she is one part of what keeps our office running smooth and is the ‘left hand’ for Dr. Jenkins. Born and raised in Hawaii she is married with two boys aged 3 and 6.

Pamela-Playing the part as Dr. Jenkins’ ‘right hand,’ she has been a part of helping the office run smoothly for 7 years. You will often find her trailing behind Dr. Jenkins helping to take care of patients. She is our in-house ‘tech girl’ who truly embodies our ‘Ohana spirit. This Hawaiian girl has been doing Hula since the age of 5 and currently dance with Na Maka O Pu’uwai Aloha.

Dannie-Possibly our most ‘popular’ employee, patients ask about her by name and trust her with all of their cataract surgery needs. This Hawaiian girl has 20 years experience in eye care and has been with Dr. Jenkins for the past four years.   She can often be heard singing or laughing and is a constant source of entertainment for our office. She has two beautiful boys ages 5 and 8 and has been married for 10 years.

Shannon-This newer face has been with Dr. Jenkins for one year, but has 18 years experience in eye care. The other half of our 2-person tech staff can often be found joking with patients and staff alike. This local girl has lots of family near by and a 16 year-old daughter, so when she’s not at work she certainly has her hands full.

Beth-As our resident fitness junkie and nutrition expert this Military wife joined our staff in October. Currently she takes care of all of our LASIK patients needs and assist with the marketing efforts of the office. When she’s not at the gym or at work she’s attending night classes to get her MBA and hiking with her husband and dog.

T-She may be a new face to our office but she is no stranger to several of our patients. Joining the office just 2 months ago she quickly stepped into the role of receptionists and has been helping the office run more efficiently. Although you’d never know it by looking at her she is the mother of 3 children ages 19, 16 and 12. A transplant of Vietnam, who speaks fluent Vietnamese, she has been living in Hawaii for the past 30 years.
